Piotr Boroń, sole proprietor operating under Article 5 of the Act of 6 March 2018 — Entrepreneurs’ Law, with a registered address at al. Solidarności 68/121, 00-240 Warsaw, Poland (“we”, “us”, or “our”), operates the 1-Bit Wonder mobile application (the “App”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses on your device, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
Your photos, videos and camera feed never leave your device. Every effect is rendered locally on your iPhone. Nothing you shoot is uploaded, transmitted or analysed remotely, and the App needs no account and no sign-in.
The one thing that does travel over the network is your purchase. To confirm that a subscription or lifetime purchase is valid, and to restore it on your other devices, the App sends the following to our purchase-infrastructure provider, RevenueCat (see section 4):
- the App Store transaction for the purchase you made, as issued by Apple;
- a randomly generated, anonymous identifier for your installation of the App;
- your device’s vendor identifier (IDFV) — an Apple-provided value that is specific to our apps on your device and is reset when you delete them;
- the App version, your iOS version, and the country of your App Store account.
We never ask for your name, email address, phone number or postal address, and we never receive your payment details. We do not link purchase records to your real-world identity, and we do not use them for advertising.
Device Permissions
The App requests the following permissions solely for its core functionality:
| Permission | Purpose | Data leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Displays a live viewfinder with real-time retro effects and lets you capture photos and videos. | No |
| Microphone | Records audio alongside video captures. | No |
| Photo Library (write) | Saves your photos and videos to your device’s photo library. | No |
All media processing — including effect rendering, photo capture and video recording — happens entirely on your device. No images, video frames, or audio are uploaded, transmitted, or analysed remotely. Shooting and editing work with no network connection at all; only validating or restoring a purchase requires one.
2. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. There is no advertising SDK and no crash-reporting SDK in the App.
We do see aggregate commercial statistics derived from the purchase data described in section 1 — for example how many subscriptions were started or cancelled in a given period. These reports concern purchases, never your photos, videos or how you use the camera.
3. In-App Purchases
The App offers subscriptions and a one-time purchase through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, process, or store any payment details, Apple ID information, or billing data. Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles your payment information.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates exactly one third-party service: RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States), which we use to validate in-app purchases, resolve which features your purchase unlocks, and restore purchases across your devices. RevenueCat acts as our data processor and receives only the purchase information listed in section 1. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
Because RevenueCat processes this data in the United States, transfers outside the European Economic Area are covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Beyond RevenueCat, the only other external interaction is with Apple’s own StoreKit framework for in-app purchases, which is governed by Apple’s privacy policies. There are no other SDKs, no advertising networks, and no analytics providers in the App.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the GDPR applies, we process the purchase data described in section 1 on the basis of performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — it is what allows us to give you the paid features you bought and to restore them when you reinstall the App or change device. We do not rely on consent for advertising, because we do not advertise to you.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children and collects nothing about a user beyond the purchase information described above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Purchases made by a child are governed by Apple’s Family Sharing and Ask to Buy controls.
7. Data Retention
All content you create — photos and videos — stays on your device under your control; we never hold a copy and have nothing to delete.
Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as your purchase may need to be validated or restored, and afterwards for the period required to meet our accounting and tax obligations.
8. Your Rights (GDPR and Applicable Law)
You have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of the purchase data we hold about you, as well as restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Poland, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. Because the identifiers we hold are anonymous, please include your App Store receipt or the transaction ID for your purchase so we can locate the correct record. Note that erasing a purchase record may make it impossible to restore that purchase afterwards.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
